Nestled in the foothills of Carn Togher, Rathcarn Farm has been our home and our family’s home for generations. Farmed by Seamus O’Kane and his Nephew Declan O’Kane, Rathcarn is a quiet, peaceful area with fertile soil which provides good grass for our grass fed Moilies. We seek to care for them in an ethical and environmentally friendly way. Chemicals and additives are avoided as much as is possible. We like to believe that we give our animals a life that is safe, comfortable and happy. It is an inevitable part of farming that, when they reach full maturity our non breeding stock care for us humans by providing healthy quality food to nourish and sustain us.

Our meat boxes are the gift our animals give to us and we are always grateful to them. We offer meat boxes to all those who value the flavour, quality and purity of grass fed animals which have lived full and contented lives on the green fields of Rathcarn.

We have currently been selling our beef boxes for the past three years which has been going very well for our farm. The demand is high and the quality of the beef is consistently well marbled and full of flavour. When people keep coming back for more, well that says it all.
We are now working with An Carn and all our bullocks will now be finished on Driom nDamh Nature reserve which is totally organic and full of herbs helping to keep our stock healthy and natural.

Friels bar and restaurant have served our beef and it will soon be on the menu again. This is a real treat and it’s always nice to get top quality beef cooked by top class chefs. We as a family always enjoy a hearty meal in their restaurant.

An Carn café have also come on board and we look forward to working with them to provide and promote Irish Moilie beef.
