Loughside Farm
Loughside Farm

Loughside Farm is situated between Ballycarry and Islandmagee in County Antrim and is farmed by
Mervyn and Rachael Garrett with their daughter Sommer.
Although it has been in the family for many generations Mervyn and Rachael took it over in 2014 and have built up a herd of grass Fed Dexter Cows and a commercial flock of sheep. The majority of the lamb is sold to Dunbia but the rest is sold along with their grass fed dexter beef directly from the farm. They have now invested in adding Irish Moilies to their herd in order to add grass fed Irish Moiled beef to the selection of produce they offer.
Their aim is simple – they are passionate about producing naturally, slow grown, high quality, 100% grass fed beef from native cattle breeds. Bred, born, raised and finished on their farm and sold locally. They are producing a high-quality beef product that is sustainable, has a low input, has a low carbon footprint and tastes delicious. They are also farm quality assured which means they maintain a high standard of farming practises and animal health and strive to continually improve them. They are passionate about native breeds
Mervyn and Rachael enjoy building lasting relationships with their customers and knowing their produce is enjoyed locally.
